This Agreement regulates the rental of storage lockers and is entered into between:
By using the Service, the Customer acknowledges and agrees with the following General Terms and Conditions.
2.1. Lessor provides an online booking Service for locker rental via maltalockers.com.
2.2. Lessor provides an on-premises locker rental Service at the MaltaLockers store.
3.1. The MaltaLockers store is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The premises are strictly non-smoking.
3.2. The MaltaLockers store has 24-hour video surveillance connected to a central control system, as well as a private surveillance service.
3.3. Bookings can be made via maltalockers.com 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
3.4. The Customer acknowledges that the website will go offline from time to time for updates and maintenance.
3.5. The Customer confirms that he or she has the legal capacity to use the Services of Lessor.
3.6. During online booking, the Customer is liable for all information provided and undertakes to ensure its accuracy, including email address and mobile phone number.
3.7. The Customer will be sent a booking confirmation e-mail containing the access code required to open the locker as soon as Payment has been made. No complaints will be accepted and no refunds given if the Customer does not receive the confirmation e-mail due to erroneous information provided by the Customer.
3.8. Lessor shall not be held liable for any false or inaccurate information provided by the Customer.
3.9. At the MaltaLockers store, after payment, the Customer is liable to take and keep the receipt with the pincode that opens the locker.
4.1. Lessor uses third-party payment processing tools and does not process any payment details — including credit card data — provided by the Customer.
4.2. Services requested through maltalockers.com must be paid in advance.
4.3. When Service is requested directly at the premises, the first hours rate is paid at reservation. When the user collects their bags, the amount owed for each additional hour or fraction thereof is paid before items are returned.
4.4. In case of online daily booking, the fee is €18.50 for large lockers, €14.00 for medium, and €2.00 for small, regardless of actual hours used.
4.5. Hourly rates and prices are displayed clearly inside the MaltaLockers premises and on maltalockers.com.
4.6. If the customer plans to store goods for more than 96 hours, he/she must inform Lessor at info@maltalockers.com or +356 77128163 and agree on a storage period. In the event of non-collection after 96 hours with no communication, the Customer must pay rental for 96 hours plus €25.
4.7. Any items not collected within 12 hours of the rental period expiry (after 96 hours with no communication, or after an agreed period) will be stored securely for a maximum of 5 calendar days. The Customer will be charged €35 administrative/handling fees plus €25 per day storage fee.
4.8. For security reasons, any unclaimed items will be destroyed after 5 calendar days.
4.9. If shipping is requested, the Customer must pay all costs up front. In addition to shipping costs, a €35 service fee applies.
4.10. Payments must be made by debit or credit card, or cash via the coin operator at the store.
4.11. By paying, the Customer accepts these Terms and Conditions. Receipts are provided for all transactions.
4.12. Any damage, abuse or misuse of lockers and machines shall be considered a criminal act and shall result in legal action.
4.13. The Customer shall not force the closure of the locker door and must rent another locker if items do not fit naturally.
5.1. Three locker sizes are available:
5.2. The Customer undertakes to check dimensions before rental and ensure the locker door is securely closed. No items must be left inside upon collection.
5.3. If the Customer leaves the locker open, a penalty fee of €25 applies.
5.4. The following items are forbidden from storage:
5.5. Lessor does not permit storage of goods considered hazardous at his discretion.
5.6. The Customer is liable for all belongings and items contained therein.
5.7. Lessor and any Governmental Authority have the right to ask the Customer to open luggage for inspection.
5.8. Lessor shall not be held liable for any loss or damage to stored items.
5.12. A customer storing an apartment key must ensure no apartment address is attached to any key.
6.1. Lessor is exempt from any claim concerning valuables contained in the Customer's items and shall not be liable for shipping costs.
6.2. Items in medium and large lockers are insured for a maximum of €500 per locker. Items in small lockers are insured for a maximum of €50 per locker.
6.3. Claims must be supported by a receipt or bank statement as proof of payment, disclosing that the service was purchased within the last 12 months.
6.4. Lessor shall not be held liable for delays caused by failure to respect opening hours or failure to collect items.
6.5. Lessor shall not be held liable for missed flights or trains, loss of profit, market or reputation, or any missed opportunity.
6.6. Lessor shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, calculated or consequential loss or damage.
6.7. Lessor shall not be held liable if the Customer discloses the electronic access code to another party.
7.1. No refund shall be awarded in the event of cancellation by the Customer.
7.2. Purchases are regulated by Maltese law in force at the date of purchase.
8.1. Lessor shall not be held liable if unable to fulfil obligations due to force majeure, including: acts of God (earthquakes, cyclones, storms, flooding, fire, disease, fog, snow or frost); acts of terrorism, strikes, embargoes, civil uprisings; national or local disruptions; latent or inherent defects in stored items; criminal acts of third parties; or acts or omissions attributable to the Customer or a public official.
8.2. Lessor shall not be held liable for broken handles, wheels or any damage to any item.
8.3. The Customer may send a written complaint including documentary evidence to the MaltaLockers store address no later than 5 calendar days after the end of the rental period.
8.4. The Customer shall contact the MaltaLockers store if he or she discovers any error in information received from Lessor.
9.1. The Customer acknowledges that Lessor uses cookies on maltalockers.com. A cookie is a small text file stored on the Customer's browser.
9.2. Customer data are stored and processed safely. The Customer can request termination of communications at any time. Lessor shall refrain from sending spam. Customer data shall not be shared with third parties unless required by law.
9.3. Personal data is processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), as provided in our Privacy & Cookies Policy.
10.1. By using the Service, the Customer fully accepts these Terms and Conditions.
10.2. Acceptance enables the Customer to access all Services offered via maltalockers.com or on premises.
10.3. Acceptance is total and indivisible. The Customer may not choose for only some Terms to apply.
10.4. By clicking the booking button, the Customer consents to receive service-related and commercial communications from Lessor by e-mail.
11.1. Services shall be governed by Maltese law.
11.2. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be resolved by Maltese courts.
12.1. Any international elements in the relationship created by this agreement shall be governed by Maltese laws in accordance with consumer rights under generally binding legal regulations.
12.2. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. The parties shall negotiate in good faith to replace any invalid provision.
